The strengths of the Italian food and agricultural sectors: top quality, age-old traditions, strong links with the land, environment protection, have given rise to a heritage which is unique in the world today in terms of riches,
variety and quality. Italy, in fact, boasts the highest number of biological food production and is at the forefront in Europe  Such riches – which are of an economic and cultural nature alike – are unrivalled in the rest of the world and need to be fully enhanced, both in Italy and on the foreign markets, where our food and agricultural sectors still need to be implemented. It is within the framework of this promotion that lies the preparation of this Guide dedicated to Italian agricultural and food excellencies; it has been published on the occasion of the World Cup 2006 with a specific aim: making this Sport Celebration, the ideal setting for sharing the best of our know-how and tradition.
It is a unique heritage which has no equal, therefore, the Celebration of Football will be the occasion to discover – or re-discover – this riches, which has made a major contribution to the success of the “Made in Italy” brand and that, very often, defines our culture and very identity abroad.
